Very Fast T2* Imaging by Using Improved Echo-Shifted Gradient-Recalled-Echo (iESGRE)
نویسندگان
چکیده
INTRODUCTION Echo-Shifted Gradient-Recalled-Echo (ESGRE) can be used to rapidly acquire MR images with strong T2* sensitivity [1, 2]. In this approach, excited spins are precessing over multiple TRs before each gradient echo is recalled. Therefore, the effective T2* weighting period in ESGRE is longer than one TR (TE>TR). This property makes it attractive in various clinical applications to significantly reduce scan time, such as volumetric T2* brain imaging and bolus tracking [1-4]. However, in most of reported applications, only one TR was shifted since the original ESGRE approach tends to produce strong ghosting artifacts for multipleTR shift. Here, we demonstrate an improved ESGRE (iESGRE) method, which can be used to acquire ghosting free T2* images with an arbitrary echo shift index.

Snapshot gradient-recalled echo-planar images of rat brains at long echo time at 9.4 T.
With improved B 0 homogeneity along with satisfactory gradient performance at high magnetic fields, snapshot gradient-recalled echo-planar imaging (GRE-EPI) would perform at long echo times (TEs) on the order of T2*, which intrinsically allows obtaining strongly T2*-weighted images with embedded substantial anatomical details in ultrashort time. The aim of this study was to investigate the feas...

Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging--guided prostate biopsy in a 0.5-T open imager is described, validated in phantom studies, and performed in two patients. The needles are guided by using fast gradient-recalled echo and T2-weighted fast spin-echo images. Surgical navigation software provided T2-weighted images critical to targeting the peripheral zone and the tumor. MR imaging can be used to guid...
متن کاملExperimental study of fast and ultrafast T2-weighted imaging sequences using AMI-25 superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO).
The objective of this study was to evaluate fast and ultrafast T2-weighted images (T2WI), including echo planar imaging (EPI), using an AMI-25 agar phantom. Image quality for conventional spin echo (CSE) and turbo spin echo (TSE) was almost equivalent. In high-resolution TSE, image quality was highest due to the use of a 512 x 256 matrix. Half-Fourier single-shot turbo SE (HASTE) was associated...
